rj45 cable rental | paris, île de france & oise

RJ45 and Ethercon cabling rental meets a need that has become central to events: carrying data, digital audio and lighting control over long distances with total reliability. RJ45 is the network connector everyone knows; Ethercon is its reinforced version, enclosed in a lockable metal shell that withstands being trodden on, pulled and plugged in hundreds of times over a season. Together they link digital mixing desks, stage boxes, video control desks, welcome kiosks and temporary wifi networks.

Extensions, cable reels and adapters: the category's references

For short connections inside a rack or between two neighbouring devices, the Ethercon/Ethercon network extension - 1m (from €3 excl. VAT) and its 3 m version do the job. Between a mixing desk and its stage box, the Ethercon/RJ45 network extension - 10m or the Ethercon/RJ45 LED 55 network extension - 20m cover the width of a stage. The RJ45 CAT6 network extension - 20m suits standard IT connections: till, check-in kiosk, control station. As soon as the control desk sits at the back of the room, the Ethercon RJ45 cable reel - 50m (from €65 excl. VAT) and its 100 m version unwind in a few minutes and pack away just as fast. Finally, the Ethercon RJ45 Cat 5 F/F NEUTRIK adapter lets you extend two cables or switch from one connector to the other.

Network cabling and staging: our recommendations

At a congress or a convention, a digital sound desk installed at the back of the room talks to the stage box through a single Ethercon cable: a 50 m reel replaces dozens of analogue connections and considerably lightens the installation. At a trade show, each connected stand (software demo, interactive screen, gaming kiosk) receives its RJ45 extension from the network distribution point. For a gala dinner with video capture, the cameras and the control desk exchange their control feeds over network cable, alongside the SDI connections. Remember to protect aisle crossings with cable protectors and to leave some slack at the ends.

How the rental works and Drive service

Our network cables are checked with a tester before every rental and delivered coiled, ready to unwind. You can entrust our technicians with the complete installation of the network together with your sound and video equipment, then its removal; reconditioning the cables on return is included in the price. Drive pick-up at our warehouse remains available for self-sufficient teams. Each price applies to a 1 to 3-day rental period, with a decreasing rate for longer periods. Send us your floor plan and a quote will come back to you as quickly as possible.

The network combines with XLR cabling for microphones and BNC SDI cabling for professional video. For screens and video projectors, see our HDMI cabling. Power for your network equipment runs through our single-phase 16A cabling. The Cabling and electrical distribution family brings all these connections together.

What is the difference between RJ45 and Ethercon?

The connector inside is the same; Ethercon adds a lockable metal shell that protects the plug and prevents any accidental disconnection. An Ethercon/RJ45 extension therefore plugs into a device with an Ethercon socket at one end and a standard RJ45 socket at the other.

What is the maximum length for an event network cable?

A category 5e or 6 copper cable carries the signal up to 100 m. Our 100 m reels respect this limit; beyond it, you need to insert a switch or move to optical fibre.

Does an Ethercon cable carry sound?

Yes, digital mixing desks and their stage boxes exchange dozens of audio channels over a single network cable. It is the standard solution for today's conferences and concerts.

Can a network cable be run outdoors?

For temporary use, yes, provided the connectors are protected from damp and vehicles are kept off it unless a cable protector is in place. Our teams will advise you on the safest routing.
