The building blocks of an event network

The professional 4G or 5G box is the quickest solution to deploy: self-contained, it powers a welcome desk, a till or a dozen workstations within minutes. For larger audiences, a professional router linked to several meshed WiFi access points spreads connections throughout the room and eliminates dead zones. When the venue has a fibre connection, we share it securely through separate networks for organisers, exhibitors and the public. Finally, for critical uses (streaming a plenary session, video control, payments), a dedicated line isolated from the guest network guarantees the stability you cannot do without.




Sizing the network to the event

A seminar of 80 people checking their emails is well served by a 4G box and a single access point. A trade show with 2,000 visitors and 50 exhibitors calls for a complete architecture: distributed access points, a network per exhibitor, real-time monitoring. A gala evening where a speech is streamed live to social media requires guaranteed upload bandwidth. A countryside wedding needs coverage above all: an outdoor antenna picks up the cellular signal at the best spot and redistributes it under the marquee. Deployment and monitoring

Our teams deliver and install the equipment before opening, run a speed test in every zone and hand you the login details to display for your guests, personalised with your event's name if you wish. During the event, remote monitoring and telephone support ensure continuity of service. Afterwards, the equipment is collected, reset and checked; these operations are included in the service. A 4G box can be collected through our Drive (pick-up) service at our warehouse for small set-ups. Prices excl. VAT cover 1 to 3 days; long trade shows benefit from a decreasing rate for longer periods, and a costed quote reaches you promptly once we have studied your needs.

Event WiFi is part of our IT family. It powers the computers in the control room and at the welcome desk, the tablets mounted on our Tablet/iPad holders and the network peripherals from our IT accessories (switches, cables, power strips).




What bandwidth should I plan for an event?

Allow around 1 Mbit/s per simultaneous user for standard browsing, and 10 to 20 Mbit/s guaranteed upload for a live video broadcast. Our technicians refine these figures with you according to your uses.




Does the network work in a basement or an isolated venue?

Where necessary, we carry out a technical site visit to measure cellular coverage. A remote outdoor antenna or a connection to the venue's fibre line can serve even the most challenging spaces.




Can the guest network be separated from the organisers' network?

Yes, and it is even recommended. We create separate networks with different passwords and bandwidth priority for the control room, ticketing and payments.




How far in advance should I book?

A 4G box can be booked within a few days. For a multi-access-point architecture or a shared fibre connection, allow two to three weeks to organise the technical visit and coordination with the venue.
