Multipair and stage box rental lets you gather every audio connection on a stage into a single cable running to the control desk. Rather than pulling twenty XLR cables across the room, the technician plugs microphones and instruments into a box placed at the foot of the stage; an analogue multipair or a digital box connected by network cable then carries all the channels to the mixing desk. The result: a fast installation, a tidy stage and a room left clear for your guests.
Analogue multipair kits and digital stage boxes
The multipair kits cover every stage format. The 4-Pair Multi Kit (from €10 excl. VAT) suits an acoustic duo or a panel of four speakers. The 8-Pair Multi Kit and the 16-Pair Multi Kit accompany a band or a conference with several microphones and playback sources. The 20-Pair Multi Kit (from €45 excl. VAT) is the companion of concerts and gala stages. For digital mixing desks, the Allen & Heath DX168 stage box and the Allen & Heath Stagebox stage box replace the multipair with a single network connection, with studio-grade preamps directly on stage. The Allen&Heath AR remote stage box completes the offer for the most ambitious configurations.
Which multipair for which type of stage?
An awards ceremony with three handheld microphones, a lectern and music playback makes do with an 8-pair kit. A seminar with a six-person panel, two ambient microphones and a computer feed climbs to 12 channels: the 16-pair kit leaves some headroom. A corporate evening concert with drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and backing vocals quickly uses up 20 channels; the 20-pair kit or a digital box becomes essential. At a wedding with an outdoor ceremony followed by dinner indoors, a compact stage box moves easily from one location to the other. Always place the box at the rear of the stage, away from the walkways, and route the multipair along the walls.
Delivery, installation and warehouse pick-up
Multipairs are delivered on a reel or in a bag, checked channel by channel before every departure. Our technicians can install the entire sound chain (box, multipair, mixing desk, speakers) and dismantle it at the close of your event, with cleaning and checking on return included. Well-equipped suppliers can opt for our Drive service and collect the equipment from our warehouse. Prices correspond to a 1 to 3-day rental period; a decreasing rate applies for longer periods. Analogue multipair or digital stage box: which to choose?
The analogue multipair works with every mixing desk and remains very simple to set up. The digital box requires a compatible desk but reduces the cabling to a single network cable and offers better-quality preamps. Tell us your mixing desk and we will point you in the right direction.
How many pairs should I plan for a conference?
Add up the microphones (lectern, handheld, lapel, ambient) and the playback sources (computer, player), then add two spare channels. A typical conference falls between 6 and 12 channels.
What length of multipair between the stage and the control desk?
Our kits are designed for the usual distances of reception rooms and marquees. Tell us where the control desk will be and we will check that the length is suitable, or suggest a digital box if the distance is significant.
Does an Allen & Heath stage box work with every mixing desk?
No, the DX168 and Stagebox units are designed for compatible Allen & Heath desks. If you use another brand, we will recommend an analogue multipair or a suitable box.
