32a single-phase wiring
A caterer's oven, a professional coffee machine or a tent fan heater quickly exceed the 16 amps of a household socket. Single-phase 32A cabling rental fills exactly this gap: enough power for a demanding appliance, without moving up to three-phase. These extension leads with blue P17 connectors (230 V, 3-pole) connect a 32A outlet on a board or generator to the appliance or to the box that redistributes it.
Two lengths of P17 32A single-phase extension lead
We have selected the lengths that prove most useful in the field:
- P17 32A single-phase extension lead - 10 m, from €6 excl. VAT: the standard link between a board and the catering station, or between two boxes.
- P17 32A single-phase extension lead - 20 m, from €9.50 excl. VAT: to reach a distant power point, go around a dance floor or supply a stand at the end of an aisle.
The two connect to each other, which lets you make up 30 or 40 metres without a junction box. The flexible cable with reinforced sheathing withstands trolley traffic and the repeated handling of set-up and dismantling.
Where 32A single-phase fits in
At 230 V, a 32A line delivers around 7 kW. That is the typical power for:
- A wedding catering station: regeneration oven, hot cabinet and induction hob on separate lines.
- A coffee bar or smoothie corner at a trade show, with a professional machine and grinder.
- Heating a reception tent or a winter welcome area.
- A small seminar sound and lighting control position, fed from a single box.
32A single-phase sits between the 16A single-phase cabling of power strips and the 32A three-phase intended for heavier control set-ups. It generally starts from a dedicated outlet on a distribution board or box.
Rental terms and logistics
The price displayed applies to a 1 to 3-day rental period; for longer durations, the decreasing rate for longer periods lowers the daily cost. We deliver and install your complete electrical distribution across Île-de-France and the Oise, collect it at dismantling and check every extension lead on its return (inspection and cleaning included). For a small order or a last-minute top-up, our Drive (pick-up) service lets you collect your cables at our warehouse as soon as the quote is approved, the quote itself being drawn up within the day.

The Cabling and power distribution page presents the full range of ratings and connectors. If your event has no mains connection, our generators have directly compatible 32A outlets.
How do I know whether my appliance needs 32A rather than 16A?
Check the power stated on its rating plate: above roughly 3,500 W, a 16A socket is insufficient. Professional ovens, coffee machines and heaters often exceed this threshold and come fitted with a blue P17 32A plug.
Can I plug a standard power strip into this extension lead?
Not directly: the plug is not the same format. You need to go through a distribution box that protects each 16A outlet with a circuit breaker. We supply it together with the appropriate cables.
How many extension leads should I plan for a catering station?
Allow one 32A line per high-power appliance, plus one in reserve. A caterer serving 150 guests often needs three to four dedicated lines; send us their technical sheet for an accurate costing.
Can these cables withstand rain?
P17 connectors are splash-proof (IP44) once fully engaged. For prolonged outdoor use, we recommend raising the connections off the ground and protecting the cable runs.
