professional speakon cable rental | sound system paris
Let your speakers sing at full power without overheating: Speakon cabling rental provides the link between an amplifier and passive speakers, or between the speakers of the same chain. Designed specifically for loudspeaker signal, the Speakon connector locks with a quarter turn, withstands high currents and cannot be confused with a microphone socket. It is the standard for concert, DJ and conference installations as soon as the sound system runs through separate amplifiers.
Speakon cables from 3 to 20 m, kit and accessories
The short lengths serve on-stage connections: the Speakon cable - 3m and the Speakon cable - 5m (from €2 excl. VAT) link a subwoofer to its top or an amp to the speaker placed beside the rack. The Speakon cable - 10m reaches a front-of-house speaker from the side control desk, and the Speakon cable - 20m (from €5 excl. VAT) crosses the width of a stage or serves a fill speaker at the back of the room. The Speakon cable kit gathers an assortment of lengths to equip a complete sound system in one go. The Neutrik 4-pole Speakon connector lets you complete or repair a cable on site.
Cabling your sound system properly for the event
For a gala dinner with an orchestra, a front-of-house system made up of two tops and two subwoofers calls for four 3 to 5 m cables on the stage side and two of 10 or 20 m to the amplification. A wedding dance party with a DJ makes do with two 10 m connections if the amps are under the DJ table. Outdoors, for a company party or a neighbourhood festival, the fill speakers placed along the audience area need 20 m lengths, possibly joined end to end. In every case, keep one cable in reserve and mark each connection with coloured tape for quick dismantling.
How your rental works
Our loudspeaker cables are tested for continuity and insulation before every departure. You can entrust our technicians with the complete set-up of the sound system, cabling included, as well as the dismantling and collection after the evening; checking the equipment on return is included. If you have your own sound crew, our Drive service lets you collect the cables from our warehouse. The prices quoted apply for a 1 to 3-day rental period, with a decreasing rate applied for multi-day events. A quote is drawn up as soon as we know the make-up of your system.

Upstream of the speakers, microphones and mixing desk are linked with XLR cabling, and digital desks talk to the stage through RJ45 and Ethercon cabling. Power for your amplifiers runs through our single-phase 16A cabling and, for powerful systems, through a box from the Cabinets and boxes category. The Cabling and electrical distribution family groups all our connections together.
What is the difference between a Speakon cable and an XLR cable?
Speakon carries the amplified signal to passive speakers, with heavy-gauge conductors. XLR carries a low-level signal between microphones, mixing desks and active speakers. The two are not interchangeable.
Do I need Speakon cables with active speakers?
No, an active speaker has its amplifier built in and connects via XLR. Speakon is only useful with passive speakers powered by an external amplifier.
Can two Speakon cables be joined end to end?
Yes, Speakon connectors chain together with no noticeable loss over the usual event lengths. For a 30 m run, a 20 m cable and a 10 m cable combine perfectly.
How many cables should I plan for a wedding sound system?
For two front-of-house speakers and two subwoofers, allow four cables, then one or two for any fill speakers and one spare. The Speakon cable kit covers this need in a single reference.
