rca & jack wiring rental | sono event paris

A playlist running on a laptop during the cocktail reception, a presenter linked to the mixing desk, a media player plugged into the trade show speakers: each of these situations comes down to a simple lead. RCA and jack cabling rental gives you exactly the connector you are missing, in the right length, to link consumer sources with professional sound equipment.

The RCA, jack and mini-jack leads on offer
We cover the three most common families of analogue audio connectors.

- RCA male / RCA male (1 m) from €0.50 excl. VAT, complemented by 3 m and 10 m versions to link a turntable, a player or a DJ mixer to the mixing desk.

- Mini jack 3.5 / RCA male (3 m) and its 10 m version: the headphone output of a laptop or tablet meets a stereo line input.

- Mini jack 3.5 mm / 2 x XLR 3-pin male lead (€3.50 excl. VAT): the cleanest way to send the sound from a laptop to two XLR inputs on a mixing desk or on active speakers.

- 6.35 mm jack M/M MONO, 3 m, for an instrument or a passive speaker, and 6.35 mm jack M/M STEREO, 3 m, for a headphone link or a balanced insert.

Which lead for which set-up
For a wedding, the most common solution is to link the couple's laptop to the sound system with the mini-jack to dual XLR lead: the speech, the memory video and the first dance follow one another without changing connections. At a trade show, the 10 m mini-jack to RCA lets you place the source on the counter and the speaker system at the back of the stand. In a seminar room, 3 m RCA leads handle the link between a player and the room's amplifier. A product launch with a guest musician will call instead for 6.35 mm jacks, mono for the guitar, stereo for the headphone monitor feed.

Combined delivery, Drive pick-up and daily rates
The leads travel with your sound system: our technicians deliver them, plug them in and test the entire signal chain before handing over, then collect the equipment at the end, cleaning included. If you already have your own system, the Drive (pick-up) service at our warehouse lets you collect the cables in a matter of minutes. The prices shown correspond to a 1 to 3-day rental period; beyond that, a decreasing rate for longer periods lowers the daily cost. A detailed quote reaches you quickly once we receive your list of connectors.

These leads complete the Cabling and power distribution family. For balanced microphone links, turn to XLR cabling; for video, explore HDMI cabling and BNC SDI cabling; for networking, RJ45 and Ethercon cabling.

Which length of RCA or jack cable should I choose?
Measure the actual distance between the source and the mixer input by following the cable route, not the straight line, then take the next length up. Unbalanced links (RCA, mini-jack) give the best results below 10 m; beyond that, prefer a conversion to XLR.

Mono or stereo for a 6.35 mm jack?
The mono jack links an instrument or a passive speaker to an amplifier. The stereo jack carries two channels or a balanced signal, for instance for headphones or a mixer line output.

Can a smartphone be plugged into a professional sound system?
Yes, with the mini-jack to dual male XLR lead or to dual RCA depending on the inputs available. Remember to switch off notifications and set the phone volume to three quarters so that the mixing desk manages the level.
