Black, round, light: the Scandinavian black Malmo coffee table slips between two armchairs, lifts off by its top for serving, and disappears into the decor of a dimly lit lounge.
Black gives the Malmo an elegant discretion. Made entirely of matt black painted steel, with a slender base and a 45 cm round top, it melts into evening settings and leaves the limelight to the glasses, candles and armchairs around it; under low-angled lighting, its Scandinavian-inspired silhouette reappears, crisp and graphic. Under four kilos: it can be carried in one hand and follows guests from one end of the evening to the other.
Its top is removable: lift it by its raised edges, carry it with the empty glasses to the bar, set it back on its base. This detail turns the coffee table into a serving tray, and floor staff appreciate it as much as guests do. At 53 cm high, it sits within easy reach of a low armchair or a sofa; the steel wipes clean with a cloth and takes glasses set down without a coaster.
Black goes with everything: with the Malmo armchairs in velvet, with gold, pink or green velvet seating whose colour it brings out, with sofas on black metal bases and with the poufs of the range. Between two pale armchairs, it draws a dark point that structures the lounge; between two black armchairs, it composes a monochrome corner lit only by the glasses.
