Four to six guests, a black lacquered top and a white frame that seems to float: the White Kubo Table with Black Top brings the crispness of a graphic table setting to a seated meal, with or without a tablecloth.
Contrast is the whole point of this version. The black lacquered wood of the top provides a deep background against which white crockery, stemmed glasses and pale table runners stand out with precision; left bare, it gives the dinner a contemporary character, dressed with a tablecloth it becomes classic again. Beneath the top, the frame in white lacquered aluminium draws a fine line that visually recedes and leaves all the room to the guests. The lacquer wipes clean with a simple cloth, and the aluminium does not rust, even under a damp marquee.
The white Kubo table measures 120 cm long, 70 cm wide and 74 cm high, the height of a classic dining table: every chair in the catalogue slides beneath it, from stackable polypropylene models to velvet-upholstered armchairs. It comfortably seats four place settings, six with tighter spacing. Two tables placed end to end create a table for ten to twelve people, and four arranged in a square form a top table that gathers around twenty guests without ever breaking the line.
It is at home at conference lunches, seated launch dinners, wedding banquets, hands-on cookery workshops, off-site board meetings or training sessions with note-taking. Its 70 cm depth leaves enough room to lay out a plate, a printed menu and a centrepiece without crowding elbows.
The play of Kubo modules lets you reverse the logic: the black frame version with a white top creates a symmetrical counterpart, and the white frame also takes a Pembroke top or a Senlis top in eco-responsible wood for a warmer look. The service furniture from the same family, the Kubo white console for display and the Kubo white buffet console for service, share the same lines and sit along the walls without any break in style.
Because the tops can be swapped from one module to another, it becomes easy to evolve the scenography from one day to the next: black top for the gala evening, Senlis top for the brunch the following morning, all on the same white frame.
