What you see first is the velvet: a dense velvet, soft to the touch, which catches the light and gives the colour a depth that flat fabric lacks. What holds it up is a white aluminium frame, four straight uprights joined by a footrest, with a square seat pouf placed on top. Gold radiates a precious warmth; it catches the light of the chandeliers, echoes the brass and the champagne of a gala, and gives the seat a festive air.
The soft seat pouf lets you stay perched for an entire cocktail; the footrest relieves the legs and the absence of a backrest lets the stool slide under a tabletop. It measures 35 centimetres square and 80 high, the height of a counter or a high table; at six kilos, it can be carried with one hand and lines up to the millimetre with the modules of the Kubo range.
